Chapter 10

James shot up, in a cold sweat, looking around the boys dorm. He peered through his hazel eyes to see the room light in pure moonlight, and 3 other boys sleeping. James breathed slowly, relieved to see 3 boys all there, sleeping soundly, to the exception of Peter’s snoring and Sirius’s legs spread open eagle. Okay...everything is normal. 3 boys...just 3 boys...wait. 3 boys? James stared over at Remus’s bed, to see him curled up in a little ball sleeping soundly. He raised an eyebrow. He was not there when we went to sleep. Sirius was jumping on his bed...James thought suspiciously. There was something, in not only James’s opinion, but everyone else, quite odd with that Lupin boy. Peter snored sharply and James fell off of his bed, and onto his arm. "OY!" he exclaimed, making Sirius jump up, raising his wand.

"Where is she? Where’s my mum!? I’ll hex her now, bloody dingba-....James, mate, why are you on the bloody floor?" Sirius asked, shaking his dark hair out of his black eyes. James grinned rather stupidly, and crawled back on to his bed.

"No reason what so ever mate. I just had bad dream." James whispered, eyeing Remus. Sirius grinned menacingly.

"Oy, that Evans slapped you? Oh wait no, that’s a dream come true that she touched you. Or maybe you’re into that kin-" Sirius trailed off as he saw Remus. He frowned slightly. "Why is he here? He wasn’t here before." he trailed off again. Peter snored suddenly and James looked out the window. Awfully dark out there isn’t it? A little voice chimed in his head. Indeed it is...who knows what might be lurking out there...why don’t you go...check one day...Another hissed. James shook his head, as Sirius stared over at Remus. Sirius snorted. "Perhaps he was in the hospital wing? He hasn’t been around for a few days as it is. I heard that there was some kind of flu going around. That girl, Opheillia Oasis, you know, the one that gives me eyes, had a nasty bout of it." James really didn’t listen to Sirius’s babbling about a mysterious flu and such. He was more intent on why he woke up. Indeed, it was just a bad dream, but it involved a little more than that. It was the pure fact that he had a very dangerous feeling inside of him. A feeling that made his insides squirm and his body shake. In fact, the dream had no sound and pictures. All he could do was feel these odd feelings. Sirius stared at him. "Mate, are you alright?" James wiped the hot sweat on his face and wiped his glasses on his shirt.

"Yeah...just a bad dream..that’s all..." he replied and climbed back into bed. Sirius shrugged and stared at James as he climbed back into bed.

"Alright..see ya in the morning." Sirius said and fell asleep on the floor. James stared at him for a minute, then Remus who lied motionless in bed. James shut his eyes and tried to shake the feelings away with the vision of one day Lily Evans dating him, and him being able to stare into her shocking green eyes without being slapped. All was well and well was thought fine.

Remus stared at them all as they slept soundly. The moon shone onto his face, highlighting new wrinkles. He felt his insides squirm. He wasn’t the only one with a bad feeling. Something wicked this way comes....a ghostly voice echoed in his head, fading away through the moonlight night.

Chapter 9

A gentle breeze woke Remus from his nap but as he looked around he couldn't find were it was coming from. Finally looking at the ceiling he realized the gaps in it and sighed. 'It's getting late' he thought to himself as he gazed out into the purpling sky. He paced anxiously through the small house. Every so often he would try and look throughthe cracks in the boarded up windows but he could see nothing but the darkning sky. As he paced his mind raced back to when he first got bitten. He could still smell the rain that had fallen earlier that day. He remembered every tree that he had passed and every scent of every flower that he had picked for his mum. He remembered the pain shooting through his leg and then blacking out. He remembered waking up in the restricted ward at St. Mungo's and wondering where his mum and dad where. He rememberd screaming for them for days but they never showed up. Or maybe they did and he was just to scared to notice. He rememered every transformation to some extent. Most were just blurs of pain and lust that could never quite be quieted. Two transformations always haunted him. His very first and most horrifying transformation and the the one right before his father left.
The basement was dark. He had gotten locked down there once because he was too small to reach the handle. He had nightmares that the furnace was going to eat him and now here he was, only a few months after being stuck in there his mother was taking him down there saying that he had to be down there, all alone, all night long. "Mum, please don't leave me down here. I promise I'll never play with the next door neighbors while your not home again. Please don't leave me down here by myself. I don't want to be alone. There are monsters they might eat me." Remus clung to his mothers skirt. He stared at the furance as if it were a lion about to devour him. His mother kissed his forehead and detached his hand. He grabbed on with the other. "Mum," he pleaded desperatly " don't leave me down here, please! I'll never be bad again. I won't use my practice wand to change the curtain colors. I promise." Remus's body went limp. He collapsed to the floor and his mother ran up the stair unable to see that transformation about to take place in her five year old sons body. She slammed the door shut and Remus desperatly tried to climb the stairs. "Mum" he whimpered, the pain was begining to start in his spine. "Mum help me." he was crying now and as he wiped his tears he felt the fur growing out of his hand. The spin crunched inside of his back and then extened. His skin was ripping and spreading out to compinsate for the newly formed bones. "Mum" he whined, his mouth now unable to form words. As he reached out to hit the door his nails extended into claws and the first scar appear. The next morning he couldn't move. He had lost so much blood that  when his father went down to the basement to bring him up he could hardly believe that he was still alive. From the point on things go progressivly worse. Remus lost himself in books. His wizard preschool kicked him out and he was no longer accepted any where in the wizarding community. His father and mothers relation ship was strained at best. At worst, it was violent. He would be up in his room studying some or another book and he would her things breaking and exploding down stair. It would always come about around the full moon. He knew what they were arguing about. He never admitted it, but he knew.
A little over a year later a six year old Remus was ready for his monthly routine. He closed his book extinguished the candle over his bed and walked into the basement. He was unusually tall for his age but his parents just chalked it up to his, condition. He was home alone, his parent were food shopping, well thats what they told him. His mother was food shopping his father was drinking. He was supposed to lock the door from the outside. He never did. That night Remus got out. His father wasn't home but his mother was. She was in the her bed room sleeping. Remus could smell her blood all the way from the basement and when he realized that the door wasn't locked he went after it. He fumbled up the stairs, not used to the way that he was going in the dark. When he realized that he door was closed he started scrtaching at it waking her up. Fearing the worst she doesn't get out of bed. Then Remus slams into the door and it cracks down the center. Again and again he throughs himself into the door. He can smell blood on the other side and he can smell that whatever it is, is scared and he wants it. The door breaks into a pile of splinters and the werewolf starts sniffing the air. He sees the bed and jumps on it. His eyes are glowing red and a hundered and fifty punds of muscle are staring down at Remus's mum. She screams and Remus growls. Then a shot is fired over his head and he jumps of the bed. He glares at the door and sees his father standing there with a double barrel shot gun aimed at his face. He was screaming something but the werewolf was unable to understand it. He growled and headed straight for the man in the door. A shot is fired and pellets are lodged in the fur of the werewolfs chest. Only one managed to get through tothe skin but that was enough to put it out of commison and he was dragged back down to the dank dark cellar. The next morning when Remus woke up he could barely breath. One of his lungs had  been injured by the gunshot. He had numerous burns and could barely stand. He heard his fathers voice upstair. "He's a freak. He should be killed. He has no right to be alive and its all your fault for letting him walk ahead of you." The words knocked the wind out of Remus. He knew what they always argued about but he never had heard it before. He couldn't believe that his dad, his own flesh and blood would kill him with out remorse. "He's your son Micheal. How could you killhim with out thinking about the who he is." His mother stood up for him. He knew she would. "Celestra, your crazy your absolutly mad to think that I'm going to live in the same house as that animal for any longer." "Then leave." she growled. Remus heard a door slam and he could only assume that that was his father leaving. Without even a second look at his son. With out even yelling good-bye down the stairs he was out of Remus's life. Neither Remus nor his mother mentioned his father's leaving. They didn't talk about it. It was just one of those things that happened in life that no one could change.
Remus shook himself out of his mental hell. He couldn't think abou that any more if he wanted to make it throught the night. This was the first time that hea ctually was a lone during a transformation and he was scared. He was scared that if he didn't wake up that on on e would even care to come and look for him.  When he felt the first rippling of his spin he started to undress and put his clothes under the trap door. There was no need for his friends to think that he had gotten jumped. While he feels the first changes pulsing through his body he closes the door to the kitchen. 'Definetly no need for me to be near any knives tonight' he thought to himself grimly. As the finally part of the transformation takes over his mind he howls a howl that shills the blood of all those that hear it. And so is the begining of the Shreking Shack.

Chapter 8

It was growing darker and darker throughout the hallways of Hogwarts, and students began retreating back to their common rooms as the prefects scolded them. All was well and well was all in Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Hufflepuff....but in Gryffindor, tempers were about to flare. Other than that, 3 students were wandering the halls, none caring what would happen if they were caught.

"I’ve never been in the Gryffindor Tower." Gideon said mildly as him, Lily and Jenna walked along the corridors to the tower.

Really? That’s odd you haven’t. And since Molly was in it, I’m suprised you never got to visit her." Jenna frowned slightly, remembering how her cousin Molly Prewett was now married to Arthur Weasley and had a son Bill who was right in Gryffindor. Gideon laughed and Jenna scowled. "I want to clobber that blighter. He’s such a...a.....blighter! And your bloody aunt wants me to marry him." Jenna whined as Gideon wrapped his arm around Jenna’s shoulders.

"If he continues bothering you, then I’m going to teach you a few nice hexes." he promised his younger cousin, making Jenna smile. Gideon chuckled pleasantly, and looked at the redhead next to him scowling slightly."Who are you? I’ve never seen anyone like you around here..." he began, but Lily cut him off as she was in a terribly bad mood.

"Evans. Lily Evans. I’m muggleborn, Slytherins hate me already, James Potter is a prat and yes, I’m the one that has got the best grades in our year." Lily snapped at him, making Gideon jump and Jenna snicker. Jenna laughed slightly, but quickly became quiet when a loud thump was given. Lily looked at Jenna slightly confused and beckoned Gideon and Jenna to hide behind a loose tapestry as she stuck her head out of it herself. Lily watched the so-called empty corridor. Finally a scream was heard and all four jumped.

"What in the bloody hell..." Gideon trailed off, and widened his eyes when a gray rock ran passed them, legs emerging from the bottom of it. Lily stared in disbelief as the rock ran by, clearly trying to escape from someone. Jenna raised her eyebrows and then saw a girl clearly their age run by, her face streaming with tears. Lily stared at the girl, not knowing who she was, and saw she had rather pretty brown hair. The girl contiued crying and Gideon groaned as if he knew who she was. Jenna sighed and went outside the tapestry to comfort the girl.

"What happened now Kara?" she asked, while hugging the girl named Kara tightly. The girl sniffled.

"Lucius Malfoy...made my r-rock have legs! And now it’s running away from me! And now I can’t catch it!" she cried, her face still streaming with tears. Jenna muttered things under her breath while Lily peered at the rock stumbling down the hall. Kara looked at Lily. "You’re Lily Evans aren’t you? James Potter keeps talking about you, and it really does get rather annoying." she said, peering at Lily who’s face cringed. "And he’s right. You do have really nice eyes..." she trailed off and jumped up still crying. "Well I’m going to go get my pet rock. Bye all...." she trailed off again and continued crying and running after her rock. "ORLANDO!!! COME BACK HERE!!!" All 3 stared at Kara as she ran down the hallway. Gideon cleared his throat.

"And she’s in my house. Bloody hell." he groaned, as Jenna pulled him.

"Let’s go...the blokes are probably thinking we won’t show up." Lily said, leading the way. Finally, they entered the Fat Lady. The portrait clucked and looked down at Jenna.

" You know, that Sirius Black is thinking he’s going to win..." she said, Jenna cursing as Lily uttered the password. The portrait swung open and Lily glared at James as soon as she saw him. James saw her, and quickly ruffled his hair. She cursed at him. Sirius, lazily lounging on a chair grinned.

"So Evans, ready to second Prewitt?" he laughed, making Lily smirk and James drool.

"Oh I would be, but Jenna has decided to have a different second." Lily laughed scathingly, sa Jenna walked in. Jenna glared at Sirius.

"Get out, you bleedin’ prat." she snapped at him, and he stood, his brown eyes glinting madly.

"Who’s the second Prewitt? Probably-" he trailed off as Gideon entered the Gryffindor Common room. Gideon looked around.

"Rather nice in here I’ve got to say. It’s rather homy and-" he trailed off, and saw Sirius. "‘Ello Black. I’m Jenna’s second for tonight." he grinned, enjoying the look of shock on James and Sirius face. Lily laughed as well as Jenna. "Ready to go? I have a date in 15 minutes..." Sirius looked at Gideon fearfully.

"No fair. You’re older than me. And I’m working on an empty stomach so I believe James and I will..." he began as him and James ran towards the door, but Lily blocked it. Sirius groaned and faced Gideon and began the duel, as James stood there, looking rather stupidly at Lily.

"Do you mind?" Lily snapped, her emerald eyes full of dislike. James stood there, completely motionless at the sight of Lily. I’m going to snog her, he thought, his palms becoming sweaty. Lily glared at him and James broke into an idiot grin.

"Not at all Evans." he whispered, making a move and tried to kiss her. Lily shrieked and slapped him hard across the face. Sirius, from under a table which was being blasted that very second by Jenna, saw James’s red face and him clutching his right cheek as Lily was furiously storming away, beet red. Sirius exploded into a fit of laughter, pointing his wand at Jenna as she ducked from the jinx he shot at her. James glared at his best mate. "Shut it you! This is pointless! You’re getting you’re arse beat by Prewitt, and even if you didn’t, I’m sure Gideon would kill you. Literally. I’m going to find some ice or talk to Lupin. Good night." he snapped at Sirius, as he continued up towards to Boy’s Dorm. He bid a good night to Gideon who was watching his cousin proudly and Jenna, who didn’t quite hear him as she forgot about her wand and was too busy trying to bash Sirius’s head through the wall. James’s eyes then laid on Lily who was watching Jenna with glee, laughing as if nothing had ever happened. " ‘Night Evans." he stuttered, amazed at her beautiful eyes. Lily fought the urge to reply back and ignored him. James walked up to the dorm, cringing at Jenna’s cursing screams, Sirius’s handsome laughter and Lily’s laughter, tinkling like wind chimes. A portrait of a man, who was watching James mildly interested, spoke towards him.

"You lot have some bad tempers. I don’t even think the Dark Lord would bother with you..."

Chapter 7

Hours turn into days days turn into weeks and so Remus, Sirius, and James had survived their first week at Hogwarts. They were all managing to get to class on time and get to breakfast without a hitch. Their classes weren't going so badly either. Sirius and James had managed to charm the Professor Mcgonagall and were pulling off stunts in the class that would have gotten any of the other students a few points off their house and a few good hours in detention. They were both doing extremley well. Remus on the other hand, though passing through that class with ease dominated during Defense Against the Dark Arts (from now on DADA). James and Sirius both agreed that it had to do with him having his face in a book every spare second that they had. History of Magic was a total drag for them. It was the only class that was taught by a ghost but that is where the fasination with it ended. Potions and Charms were fairly easy. They would have been easier if Jenna and Lily weren't out doing them in those two classes, but all three boys managed fairly well. Of course, even though they were able to get on McGonagall's good side not all of the teachers took to their antics quite as easily. The worst was, as Sirius had supected, Professor Walsh. She was the potions professor. She wasn't old and if the boys didn't hate her as much as they did they wouldn't have thought that she was ugly, but the fact remained that she was out to get them. In their first lesson she had found reason to take away twenty points from Gryffindor and give Sirius detention.
"She's evil I'm telling you. She's nothing but evil. She had me washing bed pans out until midnight. WITHOUT MAGIC, she needs to be, I don't know, hung by her tounge form the roof of the Great Hall or something."  Sirius ranted and raved and James laughed as both boys devoured their lunch. Remus on the other hand was a little preoccupied with the fact that the moon was going to be full that night and he still had no idea what to do. A sharp elbow to the ribs woke him up. "What are you staring at mate?" asked James amusedly. When Remus looked where his gaze had driffted he noticed it had landed on a rather unattractive blonde from Ravenclaw. "Gah! no I wasn't staring at her, that, no, that's just not right!" Remus stammered. "Sure mate, we know you weren't. You just happened to look over there. We believe you." joked Sirius. Remus couldn't help but smile at himself. He managed to choke down a few bites of a sandwich when Proffesor McGonagall strode over to where the boys were sitting. Sirius and James both switched on the charm. "Hello Professor how are you?" They chorused batting their angelic eyes at her. "I'm fine boys. I would like to talk to Remus though."  James and Sirius looked at Remus almost as if to say sorry we tried. Mcgonagall and Remus walked out the Great Hall and down to McGonalls office.
As they entered McGonagalll took a set behind the big  mahagony desk that took up most of the room. Remus took a seat on the other side, wondering what was going on. "Remus, as you know, tonight is the full moon. " Remus sighed, "Good, I thought I was in trouble because I handed in my essay late." Mcgonagall smiled and shook her head. "No, thats not it, thought it would be nice of you to hand in your work when it is due. Tonight about an hour before sunset, either myself or Madam Pompfrey will escort you to where it will be safe for you to transform. Of course you are to tell no one where you are going and what are you are doing. " Remus smiled rather angsty, yet kept a calm manner.

"Okay Professor. I'll be waiting in the common room then." Remus finished and left the room as McGonagall stared after him.

"Would you...stop....throwing...food at me Black!" Jenna screamed halfway across the table, startling most of the upperclassmen. Sirius grinned and chucked a peice of pie at her face. Jenna scowled and made a pumpkin juice flask float towards Sirius and let it drench his head. James rolled on the floor with laughter and Sirius smirked, yet his face visibly red. Jenna stared at him "Come on you great evil git, show me some more of your wonderfulness." she hissed. James snorted into his pie even more, only to make Sirius kick him in the ankle. Sirius smirked yet again.

"Alright Prewitt. You want to finish this? Then let's do it. Wizard's duel tonight in the common room at 2. James is my second, and I suppose you will pick Evans as yours, unless you want to risk having Cauldron tripping all over the bloody place. Or you'd like Star who will bloody banish me to Godric only knows where with her backfiring wand." he paused watching Jenna snarl at him, Lily stare at James and Lindsey pick the peices of salad out of her hair from when she tripped into the table. He started with her again. " But I suppose you'll pick Evans, since by first year standards is pretty damn smart. So I'll meet you there. Cheers poppet." he winked at Jenna and left the table dragging Peter behind him.
"James, look behind you." whispered Frank Longbottom, a second year gryffindor. "There is a girl staring at you and trying to make it look like she's not. She's not doing a very good job. I'll tell you that now. Turn around and smile at her or wink or something." Frank prodded him with a fork. James squirmed out of the way and looked at Lily. He winked and ran his hands through his already mused hair. Lily just rolled her eyes and turned back to Jenna. "Well that didn't go over how I thought it would." said Frank. James just sighed as he and Frank got up to leave.
"Did you see him wink at me? Who does he think he is? Gah, he's do disgusting." Lily muttered as she took a sip from her pumpkin juice. "So is that why you are blushing?" asked Jenna causeing Lily to shower half the table in juice. "I'M NOT BLUSHING HE JUST MAKES ME SO ANGRY!" "Whatever you say Lily. Whatever you say. Watch my stuff for a second would you love. I've got some business to attened to." Lily nodded as Jenna got up from the table with a smug grin on her face. 'I'll show him to challenge me to a duel.' she thought to herself as she walked through the Great Hall. As she made her way over to the HufflePuff Table she sought out two very distinct faces. Well, distinct from every one else but not eachother. She spotted the twins and snuck up behind them. As she covered their eyes she whispered int here ears. "Guess who?"
Both boys shrugged and Jenna removed her hands. She was immedeitly swallowed up in a hug. "Little cousin, how are you? How has your first week been? Are you finding your way through the school alright?" asked one. Jenna was immediatly able to tell that he was Fabian. Even if he didn't have his glasses on his personality was the complete oppisite of his twin Gideon. Jenna nodded to all of his questions. Then Gideon started. "Are you ok, is any one picking on you, do I need to rough any one up?" Jenna smiled. "well," she said "You know that boy Sirius Black that mum insists that I marry one day?" Her cousins nodded. They knew him well. He was the outcast of a family of evil wizards and they weren't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. "Yes, well, he's been picking on me and he challenged me to a duel tonight in the common room. I don't want to look like a prat by squeling on him so  I was wondering," Jenna smiled as innocently as possible  "Could one of you be my second?" She gave her cousins the puppy dog eyes just to make sure that one wouldn't tell on the other. "Of course I will." said Gideon as he ruffled Jenna's hair. Fabian looked at him and shook his head. "I guess I am covering for you tonight then." Gideon smilled and nodded. Jenna was perplexed by what her cousin were talking about but was to smart to ask. She explained the details of the duel and left back to her table with a wicked grin on her face. "What is that look about?" asked Lily nervously. "I hope you don't really like that Potter boy because there might not be much left of him or Black tommorow morning." With that both girls got up and went off to  Charms.

The time when McGonagall had told her to wait for her in the common room was fast approaching and Remus was begining to get nervous. He had not idea what they were going to do to him or where they were taking him and the longer that he waited the more nervous he became. He played Sirius in a game of Wizards Chess and lost misarably, which had never happened before.James and Sirius were both begining to get nervous because they could feel Remus's nerves. "Mate, you've been out of it all day. Are you sure that there's nothing wrong?" asked James in a whisper. "It's nothing you can help with. Don't worry about it I'll be fine in a few days. I got an owl earlier and it's just had me a bit on edge that's all." Remus explained quickly. He looked out the window hesitantly. The sky was quickly turning from blue to orange and purple. He looked at his watch. An Hour and a half till the moon comes up. Remus started pacing. James and Sirius sat on the couch wondering what could have possibly made thier usually level headed and calm friend so jummpy. Suddenly the portrait hole swung open. "Mr Lupin." rang a voice that neither James not Sirius had heard before. They looked to the door and saw that it was a middle aged witch they knew to be the nurse. Remus walked over to her and they both left without a backwards glance at the common room. James and Sirius looked at eachother and then headed up to the dorm. If they were going to have a duel that night then they were going to do be well rested for it. They climbed into bed and passed out.
Remus sighed as he walked around the house that was going to be his prison for the next few years of his life. 'It's not that bad' he thought to himself. The memories of being locked in a dark damp basement flooeded back to him. His whole body shuddered and he wasn't sure if it was from fear or if it was from the oncoming moon. 'No, definetly not as bad'. He walked up the stairs into a small bed room with a bed that looked exactly like the one in his dorm. He climbed into it knowing that he was going to need every ounce of strength he could muster to save himself tonight.

Chapter 6

This stuff is J.K. Rowlings we all know that...and in case you were trying to get me in trouble.. quit it.. Liz
James was the first one awake. It took him a few seconds to gain his surroundings, but it nearly a nano-second to have his senses realize that he was in Hogwarts. He tore open his hangings and looked around. Sirius was spwraled spread eagle across the bed. His left leg was hanging over the edge and his mouth was hanging open. The sandy haired boy, Remus was balled up tight under his blanket. He seemed to be the only one that was able to keep his eyes open long enough to put his pajamas on. He looked over at the bed across the dorm from him. A small boy with blonde hair lay with one shoe on and one shoe off. He was drooling slightly. The bed on the other side of the door was empty, it didn't loo like any one had stayed in it that night. James jumped off his bed and walked over to Sirius's. They had known eachother most of their lives and he knew that waking him up would be like letting a grenade off. It would be fun to watch but dangerous to be close to. He walked back over to his bed and grabbed his wand from the desk next to it. "Wingardium Leviosa" suddenly a pitcher of water lifted off of the window seat and floated of Sirius's head. "OY Sirius WAKE UP!" Sirius's eye fluttered open and suddenly he was flooded over with water. He sat up sputtering and coughing. "What.. in...was that for." He shook his head like a dog would to rid himself of the water. "Welcome to Hogwarts Siri mate." Sirius looked around, just beginning to understand where he was. "Well, look at that, I am at Hogwarts. Well, its good to be home." "How do you think that this is home?" "Well, would you call Grimmuld Place a home if you were me?" "Point taken." replied James. He looked at his watch. 6:30. "Sirius, do you think that we have enough time to come up with a good plot for first day?" James asked as he began digging throughhis trunk. "Sure, what time is it?" Sirius laid back on his bed, his black hair splayed out against the scarlet sheets. "It's only six thirty, we have plenty of time. I mean we come up with tricks all summer for Snivelly with out even having to think about it. Why don't we just start off with one for him?" James suggest as his drew out his robes. He walked into the little shower room just off the dorm. Sirius heard the shower turn on. "So what do you think Jimmy-boy. The usual. Trick food, fake spiders in his cloths, I mean we can't do anything too drastic. You remember what happened last time." James shuddered involuntaruly. He thought back to the day in his house where his parents had forced him and Sirius to be nice to stupid Snape. They had tried to be nice to him. He ended up giving them both jelly leg jinxs. Sirius was worse off with him too. He got a Bat Boogey Jinx along with it. That isn't the best mix. Sirius was a mess for the rest of the day. They got him back though. They always did. "We should get some real spiders to put in his pokets this time, and you know how he hates mice. Maybe we could find a couple of those and throw them in there too." James shouted over the shower noise.
Outside, in the dorm Remus was beginning to wake up. He was tossing and turning underd the sheets. He was having the dream again. It always came on him around that time. A boy was walking under the full moon. He was too small to be walking around by himself but his mom was going to catch up with him. She said that she was going to met up with him in a second. He looked up to the moon. It was a full silvery orb floating in the sky between the tree leaves. The light blinded him for a second and when he looked back a pair of glowing green eyes was staring about from behind a bush (chliche I know).A low growl sent shock waves through the little boys body. It sent shivers through the nerves and turned his knees into a bowl of jelly. He tried to run. He couldn't. He couldn't move. He forced himself to turn but it was to late. He tripped over the branch of a big tree. His tiny foot got caught underneath and twisted the wrong way. The pain from his leg breaking was nothing compared to the two needle sharp pains that exploded in the other leg. Two razor sharp teeth cutting through the flesh of a child like knives, tearing through muscles, ligaments, flesh and blood. The blood is all he remebered a week later when he woke up. The beast was shaking him, trying to tear him to shreds. some one was screaming "wake up! wake up!" Thats never happend before thought a little voice in Remus's head. Slowly, his mind began to focus and his body let go of the nightmare that had tormented him for the past seven years.
Sirius shook the boy, trying hard to keep out of the range of his fist in case Remus was like him and woke up swinging, but still trying to be close enough to shake him out of what ever he was dreaming. Remus had started screaming and grabbing his leg like he was in pain and Sirius went and tried to snap him out of it. Remus's eyes flashed open and just like Sirius he swung at the first thing that he saw. Sirius wasn't used to being the one that had to duck and got hit in the chin. "Nice shot Remus." Laughed Sirius as he dragged himself off of the floor. Remus looked around dazed. "Huh, what, what happend. What I do?" he asked while wipping eye boogers away. "Well, besides finally giving Sirius a taste of his own medicince, you've just woken up from what I can tell." added James as he began putting on his robes. Remus and Sirius shrugged and went to take showers also. (there is more than one shower b/c I said so) James sat watching the Forrbidden Forest waiting for the other two boys to get out from the loo.
"Finally," he sighed. "It's 7:15, we only have half an hour to get what we need." Sirius nodded and quickly began to get dress. "What do you mean, get what we need?" asked Remus. Sirius explained to him the general history of James, Himself, and Snape. It took a about five minutes, in which both boys got dressed. "Come on, come on, let's go." We've only got twenty five minutes left." James urged. He was jumping around the dorm, like a hyperactive eleven year old. (wait he is) The three boys darted out of the room and through the crowded common room. They flew out the painting and into the corridor.
They weren't sure where they were going, so they just went. They were all to tired the night before to really try and make a mental map, but they kept seeing things that they thought would be helpful. They managed to completly turn themselves around. The good part about it was they were able to find a lot of spiders and mice while walking the twisting corridors. They would all be darting out at random times trying to grab a stray mouse or a spider scurrying up a wall.
When they finally reached the Great Hall, breakfast had already began. The all stopped at the enormous oak doors and stared for a few seconds. The enormity of it was amazing. The ceiling was crystal blue and there didn't seem to be a cloud anywhere. The candles hung there without needing to be lit. The smell of food wafted through the air like a feather in a breeze. The boys were stunned. Sirius was the first to regain his sense. HE started to look around for a way to get all of their "presents" to Snape. Luck for the prank, his cousin Bellatrix was sitting next to him. She was a second year and he thought he should go and say hello. "James, Remus, give me all of the spiders and stuff." As he stuffed everything in his pocket he felt a package of Dungbombs and thanked James for giving those to him on the train.
"Hello Bella, how are you this lovely morning." said Sirius as he hugged his cousin from behind. "Hello runt, I hope you happy. I wrote your parents last night and they aren't going to be please abou this at all." she said icily. It was a known fact that most Blacks were put into Slytherin. Only one so far had ever been anywhere else and he was now outcasted from the family. "What's wrong Bella, are you mad that I actaully got sorted into a good house and you got put with these prats." "I would be careful what you say Sirius, don't forget you are surrounded, and your mate James isn't here to protect you." Sirius smiled smuggly at his cousin and walked away. He was a little upset that he wasn't able to turn Snivelly's food into bat dung, but the fact that Snape now had spiders, mice, and open dungbombs crawling around in his robes made up for that a little.
When he sat down he saw James constently glancing up the table toward the red haired girl, Lily. She was sitting next to Jenna, who Sirius and James had known most of their lives and also Lindsey. Lindsey's parents own a store, Sirius thought to himself. Which one is it? A sharp elbow to the side knocked Sirius out of his thoughts. "First year schedules." said Remus as he was handed a piece of paper. "Hmm, we have Transfiguration with Ravenclaw, then double Potions with the Slytherins.  Well, that should be intresting. Proffesor Walsh is the head of house for Slytherin and she was in Slytherin in school. This could cause problems for us. Don't you think?" asked Remus as he reviewed his schedule. "It's going to be worse than you think. She knows my family, and thinks that I should be"dealt with"." added Sirius. James shook his head. He knew all to well what Sirius was talking about. He had met Sirius's family a few too many time for his liking and each time they managed to scare him a little bit more. He could only imagine what Sirius felt like, he did have to live with them. James scanned the rest of the schedule. Lunch, herebology and that was it. Well, not that bad he thought.
A scream echoed throughout the hall. Snape jumped out of his seat and started tearing off his robes. The whole hall erupted in laughter as James Sirius and Remus smiled knowingly at eachother. It was the begining of the prank war and every one knew it.
Transfiguration was uneventful. Jenna and James were the only two that were able to make their match turn into a pin. Sirius managed to make his shiny and Remus had a pointy match. They tried to ask Professor McGonagall if they combined the two would they get full point. She just rolled her eyes. Lily and Lindsey were having much less luck. Lily managed to light hers on fire and Lindsey exploded. By the end of the class James was once again trying to get on Lily's good side and failing horribly. "No, Lily, you have to wave your wand like this." with a flick of his wrist he transforms the match into another needle. "Well, you don't have to show off like a prat do you!" yelled Lily as she walked to go ask Jenna for help. Sirius and Remus just laughed.
Potions was a fiasco waiting to happen. It was true. Professor Walsh was biased toward any one who was not in Slytherin, Sirius Black, any one associated with Sirius Black, and the rest of the world. It just wasn't a good class. Bye the end they had ten points taken out of their house hour glass. They knew the year was going to be long.
They trooped back up to the common room after herebology, each glad that the first day was over and each of the boys started to write to their parents.

Hello Mum, Dad, I'm sorry I didn't write last night, but I'm sure you remember your first night at Hogwarts. You are to tired to do anything. I made it into Gryffindor, just like I was supposed to. I'm so happy. Sirius is in Gryffindor also, which I'm sure his parents probably aren't to happy about. I also met a new boy, his name is Remus, he seems to be pretty ok. He's in my dorm. I havne't started talking to any of the older students yet, but when I do I know they'll love me. Well, the potion's teacher is a complete maniac.I have a foot and a half due by friday. I'll write more later.  James.

Mum Dad I'm ing Gryffindor. I didn't have a choice. That's where the blasted hat put me. You know how it is. Sirius.

Mum, this is great, I'm in Hogwarts. I'm in Gryffindor, which is amazing, you thought I would be in Ravenclaw. I thought I would be in Ravenclaw too. I met two boys on the train. They don't know anything about my, well about me. Sirius Black and James Potter, you probably have heard about their families. I'm not sure how Sirius got into Gryffindor, but he is a great kid. Well, I've got a lot of work already. Love you. Remus.

They would mail them the next day. Right now, the only thought was to plan their next adventure. They were only beginging to see the full potential that Hogwarts held for them.

Chapter 5

[Megz and Liz at a computer, same Bogota time, same Bogota place. Freakish huh?]

Lily looked around the room containing all the frightened 1st years. She clinged close to Jenna, who scowled around at all the blokes who were grinning stupidly at her, Sirius among them.
"They..don't...stop...staring. I..will...punch the...bloody..hell..out..of..them..all." Jenna said through clenched teeth. Lily looked at all the blokes, who were staring stupidly still at Jenna and turned back to her.
"I..see. Well why don't you say anything?" she asked. Jenna grinned.
"Nah. I kinda..like it." she said while flashing a few of the boys a dazziling smile. Lily rolled her eyes as she laid her eyes on James, who was surley plotting in a corner with Sirius, who was gawking at Jenna and Remus, who was intently listening to James. He is kind of cute...but no, he's so arrogent. Lily thought anxiously. Both girls then looked at each other, grinned happily and burst out in laughter.

"Bloody hell, Prewitt sure is...fascinating. I'd like to...get to know her a little better." Sirius said, while grinning his annoying grin as Jenna turned away. He then took out a fine comb, and started combing his hair back, making a bunch of girls giggle and swoon over him. James rolled his eyes.
"Black. The girl doesn't just hate you. She despises you. For what reason, I don't know. But seriously Si, why don't you go for that whole giggily group over there?" he questioned Sirius, while leaning slightly on his shoulder. Sirius looked at him reassuringly.
"Don't worry I will. But why in the bloody hell are you lecturing me, when you haven't made a move on a certain redhead? Eh?" Sirius provoked. James turned a slight shade of red.
"Ah...well...I will." James paused slightly and turned to Jenna and Lily's direction. "OY EVANS!" he yelled as Sirius was dragged towards the two girls by James. Remus, observing this closley, followed shaking his head slightly.

Lily watched with great annoyance as James and his cronies approached her. "What do you want?" she mumbled, trying to hide her pleasure in him seeking her. James leaned on a nearby banister and flashed her a arrogent smile.
"Hello there...Lily. How are you doing? You know, I bet I'm proborly going to get into Gryffindor. Hopefully, you as well do too." he stopped and gave her a bigger grin. "It takes someone trully amazing to catch the eye of the great James Potter." Lily stared at him, anger and hate growing strongly by the second.
"It takes someone trully self-centered to strut over here and tell me that you're "Great". Well you know what, "The Great James Potter"? Why don't you and your girly haired friend go over to that little group of giggiling brainless broads, and let them gawk over your stupid pointless...stupid...SELVES!" Lily spat at him and walked away with James staring at her. He then glanced over to Sirius, who too, wasn't having that much luck.
"Oh, so you want to bring up that, eh? Well how about the time we were 8 and you locked me in the bloody broomshed with the bloody Snape!" Sirius yelled fiercly at Jenna. Jenna laughed scathingly.
"Oh and what about the time you cut off my beautiful chesnut hair that all the guys gawk at including you when we were 10. In my sleep. You could have had the deceny to do it in front of me at least!" she taunted back to him. Sirius stared at her in shock.
"I do not gawk at your beautiful chesnut hair. I stare at your chest.I mean your chest...nut...uhh...damn it!" he growled as he flushed bright red. Jenna slapped him hard across the face and shrieked.
"You stupid...MALE!" she cried and ran off to join Lily in the corner who was staring at James with disgust. Sirius stared after Jenna and looked back to James.
"She wants me." he said rubbing his face lovingly. "She wants me bad." James rolled his eyes and stared in shock at Remus. Remus, who was leaning up against a wall, was casually talking to Lindsey, who was smiling and blushing at him. To Sirius and James disgust and jealousy, Jenna and Lily soon walked over to Remus and also started talking to him.
"What does he have that we don't?" James howled out in hurt as Sirius stared at Remus murderously.
"He's.....he's....STEALING MY WOMAN!!" Sirius started bawling hysterically. Out of no where, a voice broke the chatter.
"Welcome all to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am Professor McGonagall, the Deputy Headmistress and Professor of Transfiguration. During this time, I will ask you to wait quietly Mr. Black , quietly and you will be asked to join the rest of the students in the Great Hall for the Sorting Ceremony." She paused and stared stiffly at James and Sirius. "I trust you all will take this time wisley to er, smarten yourselves up a bit. That goes for everyone Mr. Black and Mr. Potter." The headmistress started at the boys for a second and walked back through the doors she came through. All of the students sniggered at the boys and then became silent, possibly pondering about what house they would be put into. Suddenly, a minute later, Professor McGonagall stepped back into the room and beckoned the first years to follow her. Lily clinged to Jenna as they walked through the Great Hall and clustered together with the other first years. Professor McGonagall then stood by a ragged hat, which sung a song that none of the first years payed much attention too. Finally, after the song was sung, she started to call out students names.
"Avery, Rodrick." A scowling boy with brown hair stepped up to the hat and slmmed it on.
"SLYTHERIN!" the hat screamed. The Slytherin table applauded loudly. McGonagall paused at a name a few minutes later.
"Black...Sirius." Sirius grinned as he ran his hand throughout his hair, making girls giggle throught the hall. Before he put on the hat, he flashed McGonagall a grin, who rolled her eyes and motioned for him to go on with it. Sirius started blankly into the hat.
"Well, well well....we have here a Black. What shall i do with you? Ah..I see...arrogence, smugness...oh dear...and a cunnining only fit for Slytherin. You know what is in your family..." Sirius thougt to the hat "Put me in Slytherin, I tear you to shreds." The hat laughed softly. "Let me finish before I'm destroyed. Ah....I see loyalty. A great, great deal of loyalty. Only one house for that....GRYFFINDOR!" the hat exploded. Sirius jumped off the stool and raced to the Gryffindor table, whose girls were smiling gladly. Jenna rolled her eyes at this.
"Bulstrode, Bathalimu."
"SLYTHERIN!"
"Cauldron, Lindsey." Lindsey looked at Remus in shock who nudged her up towards to stool. She put on the hat cautiously. "Hm... I see loyalty and friendship are valued above everything. It's quite hard to place you, dear. But the loyalty seems to be overbearing. Only one place for that and it is..GRYFFINDOR!" the hat concluded as Lindsey raced off to join the Gryffindors.
"Diggory, Amos." A tall, handsome boy walked over to the hat and waited patiently.
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Evans, Lily." Lily gulped down hard and walked shakily towards the hat. She felt eyes staring on her as she slipped it over her head. "Oh my goodness. Intelligence to the extreme. Very bright...intelligent. But the bravery beyond anything. You know, barvery is the root to...GRYFFINDOR!" Lily took off the hat slowly and grinned in happiness as she bounced off to the Gryffindor table and sat with Lindsey who embraced her happily.
"Goyle, Reginald."
"SLYTHERIN!"
"Ishmiel, Imak"
"RAVENCLAW!"
"McKlyne, Sara"
"RAVENCLAW!"
"Lupin, Remus." Remus smiled slightly and walked over to the hat and put it on. "Ah, I heard that you would be coming here...werewolf. Usually, you would placed into Slytherin. But you are much too kind and gentil to be in that house. You are modest...and loyal and brave. I think you would be suited well into..GRYFFINDOR!" Remus smiled and walked over to the Gryffindor table.
"Nott, Jacklynn"
"RAVENCLAW!"
"Oasis, Ophelia"
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Pettigrew, Peter" Peter, who among all of this was frightened, straggled up to the stool shaking as he slipped on the hat. "Peter Pettigrew. I see. You wish to be with your friends and your cousin. But you don't want to go where you really belong do you? Quite the oppisite but...GRYFFINDOR!" Peter scampered mousily to the Gryffindor table where Lindsey awaited him.
"Potter...James." James smugly walked up to the stool and put on the hat while casually leaning foward. "Mr. Potter. Intelligent, cunning and my oh my. Brave to teh point of stuipidity to put it bulntly. GRYFFINDOR!" James scampered quickly to the Gryffindor table and sat next to Lily, who was scowling as much as Sirius was grinning.
"Prewitt, Jennifer." Jenna strode over to the stool, ignoring the catcalls she hated so much, and smashed the hat against her head. "Oh dear, Witty, sarcastic and truthful. Where shall we put you Ms. Prewitt." Jenna grumbled inside her head. "Wherever the bloody boys won't stare at me, but hey! That won't ever happen." The hat laughed. "Alright then, I know where you want to go. Better be off to...GRYFFINDOR!" Jenna strode over to the table, admiring the Gryffindor blokes and sat down on the other side of Lindsey.
"Reddy, Hilary."
"HUFFLEPUFF!"
"Snape, Severus." Snape glided over to the stool and put on the hat. "Oh dear, this is interesting. So much hate, yet wanting to be loved. ...There's fury in your heart because you know if you don't do what your expected to...there will disapointment. I think you're better to be known in  SLYTHERIN!" Snape strode over to the farside of the hall, to sit with the Slytherins.
After what felt like an eterinty the last of the students had been sorted and the headmaster stood up. He was an older man with a long beard. "Well, students another year is beginning and I would like to just say a few things before our delicous feast is served. Firstly, I would like to remind every one that the Forbidden Forest is named for the fact that it is forbidden. Also, that no magic is to be used in the corridors between classes, and finally, a very rare Whoomping Willow tree has been planted on the edge of the forest. All those who would like to remain whole throughout this year would do well to stay away from it. That is all, now, to dinner." As he sat down. food magically appeaed on the plates. The students, dug in without a word to eachother and filled their plates to the brim. It was a long time before any of them said anything to eachother and by that point the prefect was coming over to show them the way to the common room.
Through the maze of stairways and corridors that was Hogwarts he lead them. Finally they reached the portrait hole. "Marauder." he shouted and the portrait swung open to reveal the Gryffindor Common room. Fire crackled merrily casting shadows of arm chairs tables and couchs around the room. The boys went up one stairwell, the girls another. As they opened the door to their dorm, they barely had the energy to take off their shoes, as they crashed into their beds. They were exausted from their first day at Hogwarts.

Chapter 4

"We will be arriving at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry momentarily. If you have not already done so, please change into your school robes, leave your trunks on the train they will be taken po to the school seprately. Thank you." a voice announced over the magical inter com. The three boys looked at eachother anxiously. They quickly changed and as they finished they could feel the scarlett train slowing.
"Well, mates," said Sirius with a grim trying to cover the anxious look on his face "I guess this is it. Let's go." They made their way out of the compartment on to the darkening platform. A large man with a long black beard was signalling over to all of the students. "Firs' Years over 'ere!" He bellowed above the head of the students. The three boys worked their way through the massive crowd that jostled the three smaller boys. When they finally got to the man they realized that he wasn't, normal. "Bloody hell!" exclaimed James. "He's huge." The three boys stared up at him in amazement. He smiled down at them plesantly. "Hagrids the name." he said to them. "I'm the gamekeeper here." "I'm Sirius Black," said Sirius haugtily. "This is my best mate James Potter, and this is our new friend Remus Lupin."
He called me his friend, Remus though to himself. He considers me his friend. Remus smiled a geniune smile as the giant looked down on the sandy haired boy. "Remus Lupin, I think I've heard that name before." said Hagrid to the young boy. "Ah yes, now I remember you the one with the special arrangements, well it's good to meet you. I'll see you all later at the Sorting." with that Hagrid strode away to the edge of what looked like stairs and addressed the crowd of waiting first years. The three boys didn't listen to a word that he said.
"What special arrangements?" James asked. Remus's smile faded as quickly as it came and his eyes shadowed quickly. "Umm, well, umm, my mum, she's been sick lately, and well, I'll be going home some times to see her." he stammered as he thought up a lie to tell his new found friends. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." James apologized. He looked truely sorry. Sirius didn't look as convinced. He looked at Remus curiously, but shrugged his shoulders and decided not to say anything. He didn't think he would want to go home if his mum was sick, then again, his mum was the mother of satan. That he was sure of.
The boys weren't aware of it but as they had their conversation they walked slowly down the stairs that Hagrid had been originally addressing them from. They didn't realize that they had been walking down to the edge of the lake until.
"Hey watch out!" yelled a girl that Sirius had just bumped into. The yell shook the boys back into reality and they gasped. "Every one get into a boat. No more then four in a boat. No tippin', no leanin' over, every one in." bellowed Hagrid again. The boys scrambled in and were joined shortly after by a dark haired boy with black eyes and a long hooked nose.
"Great," growled Sirius "Hello, Snivelly, how are you?" he said with mock cordiality.
Severus Snape, or Snivelly, rolled his eyes. "I'm not any more thrilled to be here with you then you are that I'm here. I would rather be in Dumstrung, but my mum wouldn't allow it." He sat down opposite of Sirius and James and next to Remus. "Who are you and what are you looking at?" he spat at Remus. "I'm Remus, why do you want to know?"
"I would watch who you are talking to like that Remus, I'm Severus Snape." He continued talking at Remus while James and Sirius plotted. They had both heard from James's father of the giant squid that lived in the lake, and they were both very excited to see it.
In the blink of an eye Snape was being held over the side of the boat by his wrists by James and Sirius. Remus was sitting in his seat, not knowing whether to laugh or to call for help, when a tenacle reached up and out and sucked Snape's shoulder and dropped him back in the boat. James and Sirius were in tears from laughter and Remus was trying very hard not to join them. Before Snape could hex either Sirius or James the boys caught the first glimpse of the castle. None of them knew what to do. They all stared in awe of the miraculous site that was Hogwarts. There were inumarable towers and turrets jutting to amazing heights. The stars twinkled and the light was caught in the thousands of windows that made the whole castle look like a star that crashed into the earth. James, Sirius and Remus looked at it with untold respect, thinking that it would be impossible to ever remeber all of the hallways and tower and how to get around. Little did they know that they would write the map of the school and the grounds.
Severus Snape looked at the school too. He thought that it was going to be his haven from his father. The safety that he would never have, and that he might find a family that would take care of him. Little did he know that he would find the family. Whether or not that family would take care of him was to be seen, but as a haven this castle was not. Little did he realize that the degradation that he had to suffer at home would follow him, the tormenting and torture would chase him through the rest of his school life.
The boys in this boat were bound together whether they liked it or not. They would have to deal with eachother for the next seven years of their lives.

Chapter 3

Lily stared out the window, her emerald eyes mesmorized by the rolling green pastures and the sparkiling blue sky. She had never seen anyplace in England look this grand, and only in Ireland has she seen pastures this green. She looked around the compartment in the train she was in and wondered how her new school would be. As she stared at the clock that was spinning rapidly backwards, she heard a voice that snapped her out of her daydreams. "Hi...Lily?" Lily spun around, eyes fearful and saw the same long and lanky chesnut haired girl that she met at the bookshop. Lily smiled sheepishly.
"Hello...you're Jenna right?" she questioned. Jenna smiled and bowed "The one and only Jenna Prewitt. So, is it ok if I sit in here with you? All the other compartments are full and you are the only person that I know that I can stand." Jenna smiled and Lily motioned for her to sit down.
"So...you're from Muggle Surrey?" Jenna asked Lily as the red head gazed out the window.
"Oh...yeah.."Jenna had waken her from her daydreams again.
"You seem pretty intrested in the country side. I'm guessing you've never been out here before."
"Well, no," Lily said shyly. "I was born in Ireland, and I moved to Surrey when I was three or four, I've never really gotten to travel much, so this is, extrodinary for me." she explained. Jenna sat back and took one of her books out of her trunk, Lily continued to gaze out the window. The hills slowly turned to farm land and little sheep and cattle wandered in the distance. There was a gentle knock on the door and a lady with a food cart strolled by. Lily, not knowing what anything on the cart was politely declined, while Jenna bought the lot.
"Here, try this," suggested Jenna as she handed Lily a chocolate frog. Again, picking up Lily's unasked question Jenna responded with out hesitation. "No, they aren't really frogs, they have a jumping jinx on them, and like muggle chocolate, they are shaped. That's all." As the girls ate the choclate frogs, Jenna tried to explain the basics of the best sport in the world, Quidditch.
"It really isn't that diffucult, just stay on the broom and do what you have to do. I'm going to try out for the house team next year. It's a dumb rule that they one let first years on the team." Again, a raping at the door made the girls stop their conversation and look to the entrance. Lindsey stood there with a big smile and a smaller boy stood behind her. "Can we sit in here? Two boys thought that it would be terribly amusing to puch dungbombs under the compartment doors of random compartments. So, can we sit here?"
Lily smiled graciously and Jenna moved towards the window to allow them room to sit. "Lindsey, Cauldren, right? " asked Jenna. Lindsey smiled and then pointed to the boy next to her. "Yup  and this is my cousin, Peter Pettigrew." Jenna smiled and the topic of discussion went to the sorting.
"So, how do they sort you any way?" asked Lindsey. "I don't know. I heard that it was something terribly hard." replied Jenna with a mischevious look in her eyes. "What do you mean by sorting?" asked Lily. She knew that there were four different houses, but it had never accourd to her how the students got placed.
"Every year the students get put into four different houses. Ravenclaw is for the smart one, Hufflepuff for the loyal, Gryffindor for the bravest. Those are the only one that normal good people get put into . The other one is for slimy, underhanded, decitful little berks. It's Slytherin." Jenna explained.  "I'm going to be in Gryffindor."
"I'm probably going to be in Ravenclaw." said Lindsey. "Me too," agreed Lily. "It would be nive to get into Gryffindor though."
"I'm ging to be in Hufflepuff." replied Peter sadly. Lindsey looked at her and rooled her eyes. Why did he have to be her cousin? Why did her mom have to tell her to stay with him. Just WHY?

At the end of the train was a compartment with only one boy in it. He was reading a book, that some of the fifth years had read. He was basically relaxed, happy that it had passed and enjoying the ride into a new life. Suddenly, the door flew open and slammed shut and two boy were pressed up against it trying ot here out. One had long black hair and the other had glasses with hair that stuck out every  which way. Neither seemed to notice the little boys siting in the corner.
"He couldn't have seen where we went in. HE isn't that smart. The slimey little git." said the boy with the longer hair.      "Who knows, that git knows cursed not even the seventh years know. Plus, he's a tattling little prat, remember when we looked him in the shed." said the other boy.
Finally Remus Lupin spoke up. "Who are you talking about?" He asked. The other boys had been so involved in their prank that neither had reaslized he was there.
"Hello, who are you?" asked the first boy. "I wan't to know who you are talking about." said Remus. "And I want to know who you are." The frist boy replied. His hand twitched to his wand and so did Remus's. The second boy sensing the tension, broke it. "I'm James Potter, this is Sirius Black. We were taling about a boy we've known since before we can remeber. Now can we ask who you are?" Sirius glared at his friend. He hated not winning in an argument and he felt like James had just lost it for him. "I'm Remus Lupin. If you don't want him in here I could put a spell on the door so you can open it from the outside." Both boys smiled and quickly agreed. Remus stood up and did the charm. It wasn't hard, and the other two boys settled down quickly on the opposite side of Remus. "So, why did you want to hex him?" asked Remus cautiosly. James and Sirius told him the history of them and Severus Snape. The rest of the journey went well for the three boys and for the first time, Remus believed he would have friends.

Chapter 2

A/N Hey Guys This is Liz, Hope you all liked the first chapter. This is mine and Megs first posted fic so comment and make us happy or else we will hex you. :D Well, here goes chapter two.

James passed anxiously in the sitting room of his house. The room was bright with all the light that came in through the windows. James stopped and looked out on the expansive back yard that glistened with the last remaining raindrops. Before the scene even had time to sink in he was already retracing the steps around the room. Suddenly, neon green flames shot out of the fireplace and James turned to it. "What took you so long!" He shouted at the fire place as the form of a boy suddenly appeared in it. With that the flames disappered and the figure of Sirius Black stood where they had been. "Sorry," he muttered as he dusted himself off. "My mum was still a bit, well extremely upset, about last night." Sirius sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Well, what did you do this time to annoy her mate. It couldn't have been any worse then the time that you took her wand and accidently gave you brother donkey ears." suggested James. Sirius smiled and his face light up with the same mishcevious smile that it held before. "Well, you know I got my letter and you know how they say to write back to tell them whether you are going or not." began Sirius. James nodded slightly, unshore of where his friends story was heading. "Well, I wrote back saying that I was going, of course, then I went to tell my mum that I had gotten my letter. Well, you know how I am. If I can't find you I shout until I do. I should have realised it was my mum that I was looking for and asked that little rodent Kretcher, but its me mate."He said as he shrugged his shoulders and pushed his hair out of his eyes. "Mum was of course talking about me when I walked in. Saying, well you know the usual. I'm not proper and all of that rot. Well, against my better judgment," which you lack, thought James " I told my mum that I had written to Hogwarts telling them that I wasn't going. Mum, wasn't pleased." James started laughing at his humble ending to the long and drawn out story. "Well, that's all well and good mate, but it still doesn't explain why you were late this morning." "Oh yes thats right. MY mum told my dad and he wasn't to please either." James shudderd at the thought. He had met Sirius's father only once or twice before but knew instictivly that he was a force to be reckoned with. "Well, that explains that."stated James, sensing his friend's want to change the subject. "Let's go before Diagon Alley get to packed." With that James held out a small bag and Sirius took a pinch of the glittering dust that was inside. 'The Leaky Cauldren' he shouted as he tossed the dust into the fire place. Green flames shot up and he stepped into them. Instatly he was gone. James stood alone in the room. He looked around once and then did the same as his friend. Within a minute the only thing that was left in the room was the sunlight.

James had followed to quickly on Sirius's heels into the fireplace and Landed smack on top of him when he arrived. Both boys hopped up and dusted themselves off. Sirius doing this for the third time that day. Tom, the toothless owner of The Leaky Cauldren, smiled over to the boys. "Off to get your supplies I reckon. Ay James?" "Yes sir, but first we are going to Quality Quidditch." With that the boys were out, behind the tavern, through the secret way (with the help of an adult of course b/c they don't have their wands) and into the busy cobblestone street that was Diagon Alley.
Sirius and James raced down the street. Their pockets where filled with Galleons, Sickles and Knuts and each boy was yearning to spend each and every one. The bounded into Quality Quidditch Supply and James immedietly walked up to the counter. "Can I have the brand new, amazingly awesome Nimbus 1500?" He poured his money on the counter and the man started to count it. He smiled at James."Of course you can." He said and turned his to grab it off of the highest shelf where it sat. James's eyes grew to the size of dinner plates as he held the new broom. Sirius was standing a few feet away and trying not to laugh. James thanked the man profusly and stepped away, still amazed by his new broom. Sirius stepped up. "I guess I'll take a quaffle and a polishing kit. " He handed the money over to the man and in return recived his things.
"I'm going to be the youngest house player in eighty years with this broom." sayed James as they walked to Ollivander's to get there wands. "Hey Frank." Shouted James to a boy across the way. "I've just got a new broom." "Really," replied the boy. "I guess I'll be seeing you on the pitch pretty soon then aye?" "Of course, well I'll see you at Hogwarts then."and with that Sirius and James were off again to get their wands.
"You go in first."said Sirius as he pushed James into the store. They both walked in and a little bell jingled to announce their arrival. Mr. Ollivander came in from the back of his store. His silver eyes passed quickly over the two boys. "Mr. Potter and Mr. Black, I was wondering how long it would take you to get here." James smiled nerveously. The mans eyes were unnerveing him, but Sirius wasn't worried at all. "Your eyes are very strange. They creep me out." said Sirius matter of factly. James snorted to contol his laughter and Mr. Ollivander smiled. "Very good Mr. Black, Mr. Potter how about you first?" James stepped forward. "Cherry and unicorn tale, good for charms." Said Mr. Ollivander as he handed James his first wand. James waved it and books started shooting out from behind the counter. "Ok, no, try this one." He handed James another wand. Again, bad results. Time after time and wand after wand was tried but still to no avail. Finally, Mr. Ollivander handed James an 11 and a half inch yew and unicorn tale wand. He said it was very good for transfguration. James hesitantly gave it a wave afraid that book would fly at him again, but just as he did, wine shot out of it. "Yes, Yes, very good. That wil be ten Galleons and four Knuts." James handed over the money and very gladly stepped back for his friend to get his wand. "Mr. Black, I think I know just what wand to get you." Mr. Ollivander disappered and the boys waited quietly for his return. "Try this one."Said Mr. Ollivander returinging holding a wand and it's box. Sirius took the wand and he felt and amazing heat radiating from it. He gave it a wave and a loud crack sounded. "Yes, I thought that would be about right. Twelve inches oak and Basilisk venom. Dark creatures Basilisk, thought that would work well for a Black. That will be tweleve galleons Mr. Black." Sirius scoweled as he handed over the money. He hated to be reminded who his family was an hated even more to be reminded that they weren't exactly the best type of wizards there were. Sirius was extremly releaved to leave the store.
James and Sirius made there way to Flourish and Blotts to pick up the books that they would be needing. They fought through the crowds that had been steadily growing since they had arrived an hour and a half earlier. To get into the bookstore was a fight, and trying to find some one to help them with their books was like pulling teeth. Sirius, finally tired of asking people tohelp him setteled down with a book. When James looked over and saw his friend immeresed in "How To Hex Your Parents"  he setteled down with this years eddition of Qudditich through the Ages.
Sirius looked up from his book every so often, always hoping to find some one who worked there that didnt have twenty other people surronding them. After about half an hour of doing this something caught his eye. She was a very pretty girl with long red hair and great green eyes. She was standing down the aisle from James and him speaking to some one helping her get her books. Sirius immedietly elbowed James who wouldn't look up until he saw the first goal of the Champinonship match between Hungary and Guatamala in 1767. When he finally looked up the older gentle man had left and the girl was walking over to them. Sirius immediatly ran his fingers through his hair and James just stared.
"Hi, umm, I was wondering if you could help me use this money. I, I'm not wizard born and I haven't a clue how to use it." said the girl with red hair to Sirius and James. "Of course Lovely. I'm Sirius Black, and the fellow who is drooling is my best mate James Potter. I'm sorry I didn't catch your name Beautiful." said Sirius. "Oh, how stupid of my, I'm Lily, Lily Evans." said Lily as she stared at her shoes, smiled and rolled her eyes all in one movement. "Well, Ms. Evans I'm sure my mate James her would be delighted to help you. Wouldn't you James?" asked Sirius as he elbowed James in the ribs. Suddenly James shook his head out of shock and stammered on, playing with his wand in his hands. "Why yes of course. Umm, the bronze ones are Sickles, no I mean they are Knuts and, well, the gold ones are Galleons and they..."James stammered on hopellessly as Sirius stood in the background laughing. Meanwhile James managed to flick his wand just right in his hands to "You've lit my skirt on fire!"   screamed Lily. Sirius quickly put it out with a bit of water as James apologized. Another girl, apparently drawn by the commotion came over and put her hand on Lily's shoulder. "Hey Red," said the girl "What's the problem here?" The girl was tall and he chestnut hair fell to the middle of her back, her light brown eyes glittered as she looked at the two boys. "Well, I asked these two prats how to use the wizard money, because, well I don't know. That one tried to explain it to me and lit my skirt on fire and that one is just laughing like it is the funniest thing that he has ever seen in his life." explained Lily exasperatedly. "Well, how about this, I take the one with the girly hair, and you take the one that looks like he has never seen a brush before?" suggested the girl. "I brush my hair, Jenna." spat James. "It doesn't look like it Potter." replied the girl, Jenna, tartly. "I don't want to fight," sighed Lily "I just want to get my things for school and I need to learn how to use this blasted money." "Well, come on then Red, I'll help you with that no problem."Jenna put her arm around the shorter girl's frame and they went to the counter to pay.
"My name is Lily, by the way." sauggested Lily as they were on line. "Oh, ok Lil. I'm Jenna Prewitt. It's going to be my first year at Hogwarts too, hopefully we will be in the same house. I really hope that I'm in Gryffindor, but I think my family will be a bit upset. Most of them have been in Ravenclaw or Slytherin. I'm pretty sure you have no idea what I'm talkin about so I'll explain it." with that Jenna went into a quick overview of what each house was like. Meanwhile James and Sirius finally got some one to help them with there books. "I can't believe Jenna was here. I thought she was studying abroad for school. To keep her from getting in any more trouble with us. " said Sirius as he grabbed the last of his books. "I don't care why she is here. I don't like it. She's going to get me in trouble again."James ruffled up his hair to make it look even messier then it already did. "Come on lets go get on line. " suggested Sirius, and so the boys got on line just as Lily and Jenna where leaving. "Wait a minute" whispered James hurridly as he dumped all his books on top of Sirius's stack. He ran out of the store just before Lily and Jenna could dissappear into the crowed and shouted "I LOVE YOU EVANS! " Lily turned around and glared at him. Words couldn't even express what she was thinking. James walked back inside and took his books back. "I like her." He said defiantly, daring Sirius to say something. Sirius knew his friend better and just laughed.

"How do you know them?" asked Lily as her and Jenna came out of the Apothicary shop. "Who, James and Sirius, oh well both of them are old pure blood families and so am I, so we were kind of forced on eachother when we were younger. Most of the time Pureblood families are allowed to speak to only other pureblood familes. That's how it is with Sirius's family. James's father can get like that at times but his mother is a darling. His father is alright most of the time. My family doesn't care. If you are a good preson you are a good person. Blood doesn't matter." Lily's head was spinning. What was pureblood? Did it make her any less of a witch because she wasn't one? "No, your not any less of a witch because you aren't pure blood it just means that you aren't from an old family that's all. Only crazy prat families make a big deal about it. Sirius and JAmes weren't picking on you beacuse of that though. James seems to be infauated with you and Sirius is infauated with anything that wears a skirt. They are the two biggest pranksters in the universe under the age of thirteen. If they meet up with Mundungus Fletcher when they get to school they will be impossible." Jenna had a sof briskness about her that made Lily feel alot better. By the time that they got to the cauldren shop, Lily learned more in those five minutes then she had her whole time in Diagon Alley. "Bloody hell!" exclaimed Jenna looking at her watch. "I was supposed to be back in the Leaky Cauldren five minutes ago. My mums going to kill me.Bye Lil see you on the first" with that Jenna was gone in the blink of an eye.
Lily smiles as she walked into the cauldren shop. Lily was amazed by what she saw. She walked backwards and accidently had walked into another girl walking backwards. "Oh, I'm sorry" stammered lily as she helped the other girl up. "It's your first year at Hogwarts and your muggle born right?"  Lily stared at the other girl "Don't look at me like that. I work here, my parents own the store and all muggle borns walk in with that same look of awe on their face thats all. Sometimes I still do and I was practically raised in this store. I'm Lindsey by the way." The girls face shined. She had curly blonde brown hair and he cheeks still had their baby fat. "I'm Lily, could you help me?" "Of course, thats my job." quickly Lindsey grabbed Lily a cauldren and helped her pay. "I'll see you on the express on the first then Lily." said Lindsey smiling.
Lily walked out onto the cobble stone street with cauldren in hands, books in the cauldren and wand in pocket. She had two new friends that she could sit with on the train, and she learned about the houses that she could stay in. Now all she had to know was the sorting, but right now she didn't care. She strolled happily to the Leaky Cauldren and walked out to the busy streets of London which she knew would never seem the same.

A/n I know that wasn't James's real wand, I just didn't rememeber it and my book is at my other house. If you know it tell me por favor, leave comments, hopefully good ones, buenas nachoes. Liz

The Marauder's Years 1972-1978 Chapter 1

"There comes a time in every child's life that they dream of magic. From stirring  mysterious  potions to flying broomsticks, even just waving wands around crosses the mind of dreams and mysteries. People may tell you " There is no suck thing as witch craft or flying brooms." but you know that in your heart there is such ....
Lily Evans closed her book with a thud and let out a tiresome sigh. She tossed he hair and walked over to her mirror. An eleven year old girl with long red hair and glowing green eyes looked back at her. She had fair skin with freckles and he smile was addicting. Lily peered at herself and then looked away quickly as a loud rapt on the door stole away her silence.
"Lily, go check the post, I'm on the phone" a blonde hair girl ordered as she poked  her head in the door. Lily sighed.
"Yes Petunia, sir" she replied in a mock militant tone to her loder sister. Her sister shot her an evil look and walked back out of the room with the phone in hand. Lily grudgingly walked down  to the living room and past her mother and father to collect the mail. "Mrs. Evans 31 Flushing Drive, Little Whigging, Surrey, Mrs Evans , Petunia Evans, Loretta Evans, Mr. Evans" Droned Lily as she read the post. Suddenly, she came to a letter which was addressed to her."Lily Evans , the blue and purple bedroom. Flushing drive, Little Whigging Surrey" She said suprised. Shedropped her parents mail in the living room and continued on to her own room. On the way she threw her sisters mail in the room and finally back in her own room she opened her letter. As she read it her face changed drmatically, from happy to amazingly suprised. "Bloody hell" she whispered as she reread the letter.
             Dear Ms.Evans
We are please to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipement. Term begins on September first. WE await your owl no latter then July 31.
                                      Yours Sincerly
                                              Jane Walsh
                                    Deputy Headmisstress

She stared blankly at the page as she let the word sink  in. She ran down the stairs and into the sitting room. Mrs. Evans looked up at her youngest daughter.
"What's wrong honey?" asked Mrs. Evans as Lily thrust the letter into her mothers hand. Loretta Evan's face read the letter amazadly. Her eyes double to nearly the size of Lily's as she silently handed the paper over to Mr. Evans. "Ken" she said "You have to read this."
"Dear Ms. Evans we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to." he paused. "Lily, Loretta, what is so amazing about this Lily has been accepted to St. Maries." Both mother and daughter urged him to continue reading. "WE are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of WitchCraft and what!!" exclaimed Mr. Evans. "Lily, you're a, a," he stammered unable to say the word. "Yes" replied Lily. "I guess I am a witch. Isn't it brilliant?"
Lily stared hopefully at both of her parents. Finally, after an akward pause Mrs. Evans speaks. "Well, I think that you should definetly go. I think it would be wonderful to have a witch in the family." Loretta beamed at her daughter. Ken wasn't as happy. "You actually want her to go, to this, school. I mean, it would be a bit strange." Mrs. Evans shot her husband a look that Lily knew all to well. It was the look that Petunia gave her ever time that she wanted to be right. "Yes, of course, it would be wonderful if you went Lily, love." said Mr. Evans finally. Lily kissed both of her parents as she raced out of the room. She bumped into her sister as she ran up the stairs to her room. "Petuia, can you believe it? I'm a witch." Petunia stared at her with a mixture of disdain and disgust as her sister left the room.
"I'm a witch." thought Lily to herself. "And I am going to a school to learn how to use magic. This is going to be a great year." she thought as she looked at herself in the mirror. "This will be a very great year"

"Mum" shouted a boy as he jumped down the last three stairs of the stair way. "Mum, Mum, MUM WHERE ARE YOU!" he yelled as he shook his black hair out of his eyes. Finally, a voice came back to him from a seemingly long distance. "I'm in the sitting room, and if you had any sense you would have asked Kretcher instead of running about like some mudblood brat. " Sirius Black rolled his light brown eyes and headed back up the stairs that he had just raced down.
As he walked into the sitting room he saw that his mother had company, which meant that he would just get told off even more. His mother hadn't seen him at the door she continue her tirade about her least favorite son. "Honsetly, he runs about the house like he has no common sense. He would rather be out playing some bloody muggle sport then in here learning curses with his brother. He doesn't" she was abruptly inturrupted as Sirius walked in. "I don't act like a Black should. I run around with muggle children, and I hate the blasted house elves. I've heard the story and I'm sure that Mary-Anna has heard the story more times than she would care to." He said say he smiled curteously at his mother's guest.  The glint of mischef that was in his eyes combine with the smile made Sirius Black capable of weasling his way out of almost everything.
"WEll, what do you want?" His mother asked impatiently. "I just wanted to tell you that i have gotten my letter to Hogwarts and" he would have finished his sentence but his mother intruppeted.
"Yes, of course you've gotten you're letter. HEaven's forbid that we should have some sort of squib in the Black family and tarnishing the Black name. Even though you probably will, by ending up in some other house the Slytherin. Heaven help you Sirius if you end up in Gryffindor."
"Well, you don't have to worry about that mother dearest" he said sarcastically "beacause I have written to them and told them that I wasn't going to go." within the blink of an eye pink suds where foaming out of Sirius's mouth as his mother screamed.
"Sirius Xavier Black, wash out your mouth. Could you imagine what your father would say if he heard you you say that? You know what he would say. Crucio is what he would say and your screams would be heard throughout the whole bloody neighborhood."
Sirius was barely able to speak through the foam pouring out of his mouth, and barely able to be heard over his mother shouts. "Mum" he said through a mouth full of suds. "I was only joking. Iam not as dense as to do that." He spit some more of the suds on the floor and stormed out of the room.  When he finally got to his room the spell was wearing off and he was now only hiccuping the occasonal bubble. He immedatly grabbed up his quill and some parchment and scrolled a hasty letter to his best friend.

James mate, I 've just got my letter and of course I mangaed to make my dear mum upset. I have no idea how. WEll, yes I do but I'll explain it when I get to your house tomorrow. I'm spending the night. I would come tonight but as I said  my mum is a bit angry with me.
                                        Sirius
Sirius grabbed his owl off its perch and tied the letter to it's leg hurridly. He tossed it out the window and silently hoped that it got to James the same night. He then threw himself onto his bed and counted down the days until he could leave this hell hole he called home. It wasn't soon enough.

James Potter sat staring restlessly at the ceiling. It seemed as though with his choclate eyes he was trying to bore a hole into it. He got off of his bed and started pacing around the room, occasonally running his hand through his already messy black hair. He went to his desk and grabbed his Qudditch Through The Ages book. He sat and numbly looked through it not really reading it at all. Finally, he tossed it aside and started pacing again.
There is a tap on the window and James nearly jumps out of his skin. He sees a milky white owl hovering outside and immediatly knows who its from. "Sirius" he mumbles under his breathe as he untied the parchment from the owls leg. He immediatly sits down and scrawls an untidy message to his friend.

What did you do this time mate. I haven't gotten my letter yet. Could you imagine what my father would say if he found out that I was a squib or soemthing? I think he would disown me. Well, I'll see you tomorrow then I guess mate.
                               James

The white owl was now twittering around madly above James's head. "Come down here Inky!" shouted James at the owl. He jumped and grabbed the ankle by its scrawny leg. He tied the parechment and let the owl out of the window. Before he could even sit down a voice carried up the stair. "Jame dear, have you recieved your letter yet?" his mother asked. "Not yet mum, I might not get it tonight, maybe I'll get it tomorrow if not today." he replied. "Well, tell me the instant that you get it so I can owl your father and tell him." James rolled his eyes. He knew that his father really wouldn't care one way or another. Everyone knew that James had magical blood, and there was no way that he wasn't getting into Hogwarts. As long as he got into Gryffindor or Slytherin then his father would be fine. His father only cared that the name Potter was carried on with pride and dignity.
James stared listlessly out of the window. He saw something about a quarter mile away on the horizon. At first he couldn't tell what it was and then slowly it came into focus. James grabbed his broomstick from his chest at the foot of his bed and lept out the window. He had no thoughts but to get to that owl that he saw on the horizon because if he was right then it would be his letter accepting him to Hogwarts. He reached the owl in a matter of five minutes and tore the letter off of its leg. Tearing the letter open James read the first few words and let out a loud yell of excitement. "Mr Potter we are pleased to inform you. Yes! " with that he turned back to his house and plummeted through the window. "Mum, I got my letter. I'm in!" he bellowed down the stairs.
He threw himself backwards onto his bed and was finally able to relax.

Remus Lupin sat reading his book by candle light. The sun was just starting to set and the candle light played in his light brown hair. His eyes glowed and amber yellow. They were almost the color of honey. The title of the book was written in gold and was Standerd Spells grade 2. So intently focused on the books was Remus that he didn't notice an owl hovering outside of his window. It took the owl almost two minutes to get the boys attention and even then he was slow on opening the window. Him and his mother recived very little mail and when they did it was always for his mother. He opened his mouth to call his mother to tell her that she got mail when he read the letter head. It was adressed to him. He opened it with trembling hands. Suddenly, his face lit with a smile. He let out a whoop of excitement as he read and reread the letter that he had in his hands.
His mother was drawn by the sound of his shout. "Remus, honey what is it?" She could see the elation on the boy's face and truly wondered what had made her usually solemn son so happy. He thrust the letter into his mothers hand and before she could finish reading it he shouted "I got in! Dumbledore let me in mum. I get to go to Hogwarts!!" The grin on his face reached from ear to ear. His eyes, even with the bags underneath, glowed. His face even with the scratches and scars shined with happiness.
"Remus honey, I'm so happy for you. This is going to be so great for you. I know that this is what you've wanted and I'm just so happy that Dumbeldore has let you in." She stood back and looked at him. Her face taking on the usual conern. "Honey, you know that most of your things are going to be second hand. I mean, things haven't been easy, especially since, since your father left."
Remus nodded. He thought back to when he was six years old and his father had left that house ranting and raving that his son was a freak and was going to be an outcast. For once he thought back on that day five years past and didn't cringe. He didn't care about it any more. He was gonig to Hogwarts and he was going to be something. Remus kissed his mother cheek. "Mum, I'm going to write back to them and tell them that I'm going. Then I'm going to finish my book." His mother smiled. "Of course dear, Of course. We'll go into Diagon Alley tomorrow I guess." With that his mother walked outof the room. Remus grabbed a quill and wrote to Hogwarts thea he would be attening and thanked Dumbledore profusly for letting him in. Finally, he settled back into his chair and continued reading.

Thud, Thud, Thud, was all that was heard in the house. The window panes that lined the stairway shooks slightly as a slightly heavy boy pounded up and down the stairs. He was breathing heavily and his blonde hair was plastered to his head with sweat. "Peter darling what are you doing?" as a pretty blonde woman from the bottom of the stairs. "I'm waiting for my letter mum." replied Peter. "Well, tell me when you get it. I'll be in the kitchen starting dinner." with that she left the bottom of the stair and pots and pans could be heard.
Thud, thud, thud, shake, shake, shake. That was all that could be heard for the next five minutes as Peter's footsteps pounded the stairs. Finally, partly from exuastion, and partly from annoyance he collapsed onto the stairs, tears silently streaming down his eyes. "I can't be a squib. I just can't be. I don't know what I would do if I was. My father would kill me. I know he would. I can't be a squib. I can't be. I just can't be. Oh bloddy hell, I'm a squib." with that he broke unrestranidly into tears. In his tears he didn't notice an owl hovering in the evening light. Finally, as he looked up with little hope left he saw the owl and dried his tears. He opened the window and fiercely tore the letter off the poor things leg. He hurled the owl back out the window and ripped the letter open. Peter laughed a little in relief he read the first few lines and raced down the stairs to the kitchen.
"I got my letter mum. Look here, I got it. I got in." he said brandishing the papers in his mother's face. "I'm so happy for you" she exclaimed, visibly relieved that her son had finally recieved his acceptance letter to Hogwarts. "Well, this merits a celebration. Anything you want for dessert darling I will make it for you." Immediatly, he set off naming anything sweet that he could think of, finally landing on a triple layer chocolate cake. After deciding that, he went of to his room. He threw himself on to his bed and smiled up at the ceiling. 'I knew I couldn't be a squib' he thought to himself.
